hi there! i’m kathy, a third year computer science student at the university of waterloo. i’m super passionate about everything tech and STEM related, from software development and physics to digital art/design and photography.

face recognition.

created an interactive web app for facial recognition using React.js for frontend, an image recognition API, and built an own server using Node.js and Express.js with the PostgreSQL database.

lyrify.

lyrify is a responsive web app that leverages the Spotify Web API to allow you to listen to music and follow along with the lyrics at the same time. lyrify incorporates React.js, React hooks, Express.js and Node.js.

weather web app.

built a weather web app with React.js, using the Open Weather Map API to make Restful API calls in order to return the weather data. implemented the Modern JavaScript Fetch API along with React hooks and conditionals.
